The project is aimed at increasing the resilience of Ukrainian border control agencies during wartime, as well as at supporting further reforms of the border management system

Ukraine is a priority partner of the European Union. The signing of the Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area, in 2014 opened a new chapter in the relations between the EU and Ukraine.
The implementation of the Agreement bring about closer cooperation in the sphere of politics and security and gradual economic integration of Ukraine into the EU single market. The agreement also offers a roadmap for reforms in Ukraine, including the introduction of European standards and best practices

The European Union pays great attention to cooperation and coordination among border management agencies, as well as information exchange and joint risk analysis both between the EU Member States and with third countries, specifically with our immediate neighbours. Together, we are moving towards the moment when borders will be perceived not as a tool of division but rather as a means of connection and security
Integrated Border Management in Ukraine is a coordinated activity of the competent state agencies aimed at creating and maintaining a balance between ensuring the appropriate level of border security and maintaining the openness of the state border for legal cross-border cooperation as well as for travelers.
The security of the country, the development of its economy and human potential depend on the effectiveness of state border management. Building an efficient system of state border management will contribute to cross-border cooperation, increase of revenues of national and local budgets, tourism and simplification of other forms of legal movement of persons, services and goods. At the same time, state borders should be closed for all types of illegal activities that threaten the stability of the country and its neighbours.
